Similan Islands Opening Times and Restrictions
The Similan Islands National Park is typically open to visitors from October 15th to May 15th, coinciding with the dry season when the seas are calm and ideal for exploring. However, it’s always a good idea to check for any updates or restrictions, especially considering environmental conservation efforts and seasonal changes.
To preserve the delicate ecosystem, certain regulations are in place within the national park. These include no fishing, no collecting of coral or shells, and strict guidelines for waste disposal. Visitors are encouraged to respect the natural environment and follow the guidelines set forth by park authorities to ensure the preservation of this pristine paradise for future generations.
Traveling to the Similan Islands
The Similan Islands are located approximately 70 kilometers west of Phuket. Traveling from Phuket to the Similans typically involves a combination of land and sea transportation.
If you are staying in the South of Phuket, 5 Star Marine Phuket would pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the Boat Lagoon marina and head to the Similan Islands from there. This journey from the marina to the Similan Islands takes around 2 and a half hours. If you are staying in the North of Phuket then we would pick you up and take you to our pier at Sarasin bridge where our 5 Star marine Phuket team will meet you. Travel time to Similan from here is around 2 hours. It is a long trip so we do recommend that this tour is not for young children.
