Even though Coconut Island, also known as Koh Maphrao in Thai (the word maphrao means coconut) is the nearest point to Phuket at only 750 meters, the atmospheres on the two islands are considerably different.
Phuket is well-known for its extensive array of tourist attractions, tourist amenities, and vibrant way of life, whereas Coconut Island is a much more tranquil island surrounded by nature. The two primary industries on the island were farming and fishing. The center region of the island is home to rubber trees, as well as native fruits and vegetables. Two sizable resorts have also opened up new job prospects for the people of Coconut Island.
